Treasurer
The City of Taylor Treasurer’s office is essentially the tax collection arm of the City. It is responsible for collecting all monies payable to the City of Taylor including taxes, water bills, licenses, and permit fees at the cashier’s window, located off of Pine Street.
ATM Available in City Hall Atrium
An ATM is located in the City Hall Atrium, just steps away from the Cashier’s Window at the Treasurer’s Office. The Treasurer’s Office is located adjacent to the Pine Street entrance to the building.
Foreclosure Prevention
The Michigan Homeowner Assistance Nonprofit Housing Corporation (MHA) in collaboration with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), received federal funds in 2010 from the U.S. Department of the Treasury to help Michigan take a step forward through a comprehensive, statewide strategy that is aimed at helping homeowners prevent foreclosure and stabilize communities. To find out more about the program, view the Step Forward Michigan website.
Drop Box
For your convenience, there is a drop box located on Pine Street next to City Hall for payments that don’t require a receipt. (Your cancelled check will serve as a receipt.)
Online Payments
Personal property taxes and water bills may be paid online for an additional fee using the Official Payments Service.
Wayne County Kiosk Program
Wayne County Treasurer’s Office is accepting payments for delinquent taxes on the all-new DTE Kiosk Network. Taxpayers can make payments and look up account details, research tax information, pay with check, cash or credit card -- and also pay your DTE Energy bills. The kiosks are located in Rite-Aid stores and several other locations throughout metro-Detroit. Although the majority of the 21 kiosks are currently located in Detroit, the network will be expanding. To learn more about the kiosk program, view the Wayne County Treasurer website.
Wayne County Treasurer's Office Financial Hardship Policy
To address the increasing financial distress experienced by many Wayne County taxpayers during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Wayne County Treasurer's Office Financial Hardship Policy now includes certain Occupied Commercial and Residential Rental Properties to allow for an extended payment period through 2023.
Property owners with delinquent taxes may review the hardship policy or apply for a payment plan at treasurer.waynecounty.com and email completed applications and any questions to wctopaymentplans@waynecounty.com.
