Mayor Rick Sollars and Fire Chief Stephen Portis are alerting residents in the City that due to annual fire hydrant testing by both the TFD and DPW, water pressure and appearance may vary. However, you should not be alarmed and there is no safety risk. Testing will be done throughout the community for the rest of September and October. If you experience low pressure because of the work being performed, the normal pressure will return shortly. If you experience discoloration of the water, just continue to run the water for a few moments, and it should subside as the lines clear. If you experience water discoloration, DO NOT do your laundry before the line returns to normal, because the discolored water may stain your clothes.Remember, there are no health risks. The City thanks you for your patience during this hydrant testing period.
