Officials of the Taylor schools and city are getting ready to distribute the holiday gifts collected during the Taylor Ford "Fill the F-350" drive, which kicked off during the Winter Festival on November 26.
Schools Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Mary Ann Cyr, Superintendent Ben Williams, schools support staff member Kathie Fields and Mayor Rick Sollars convened at the "Fill the F-350" gift box in City Hall before the gifts were transported to the Taylor School District. They will then be distributed to needy family whose children attend the district.
The Taylor Ford "Fill the F-350" program started with the Taylor Winter Festival, when the dealership donated the use of a F-350 for the festivities and residents were asked to fill its bed with holiday gifts for needy children. Mayor Sollars and Superintendent Williams coordinated the effort with Fields and the school district support organization, who agreed to coordinate the distribution by working with elementary school principals across the system.
The City and school district would like to especially thank Taylor Ford for participating in the program, along with many City employees who donated to the cause.
