Lakes Map

Writing for MLive, Peter J. Wallner and Brendan Savage called the Lakes of Taylor Golf Course is one of the most challenging courses in the State of Michigan.

The article, which focused essentially on public courses in the Lower Peninsula, noted that the Lakes of Taylor the most challenging course in Wayne County. The course was among many throughout the state to be lauded by the writers, who looked at total yardage, signature holes, and defined what made each course a challenge.

They pointed out that Lakes No. 17 is the signature hole: "The picturesque 17th has a peninsula green that is basically surrounded by water on all sides, creating a difficult tee shot to avoid getting wet."

As for what makes Lakes a challenging course, the story said the following: "The course is long with the greens can be difficult to navigate, especially for anyone who misses them. There are a lot of uneven lies around the greens and the course has plenty of bunkers, wetlands, trees and water hazards. (Hey, it's called the Lakes of Taylor for a reason, right?)"
