The 38th annual Junior League World Series will return to Taylor in August 2018 Teams from all over the world will compete at Heritage Park for their chance to win the ultimate Junior League baseball bragging right. The JLWS is the "next step" of level of the Little League World Series, held annually in Williamsport, PA. The JLWS has never been held anywhere but the Heritage Park in Taylor.

In 1981, the first year of the JLWS, only the four regional championship teams from the United States made the journey to Taylor. Boardman, Ohio, won that first world championship, besting teams from Richmond, Virginia; Gloucester County, New Jersey; and Bassett, California. Bo Pelini, former head football coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, played on that Boardman team. Many other famous athletes have made their way through the JLWS, including current Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Detroit Lions' backup QB Matt Cassel, former Tiger Gary Sheffield and many, many others.
