    Taylor Meadows Golf Club & Lakes of Taylor Golf Club proudly host the 27th Annual Taylor City Championship! This stroke play tournament is open to all players of all skill levels, and will be contested over two days on Downriver’s finest and most challenging golf courses. The qualifying round will be played at Taylor Meadows on Saturday, July 29th and the final round will be played at the Lakes of Taylor on Sunday, July 30th.

    Fourth in a series of City of Taylor Movies in the Park (see image). In The Perfect Game, amid the poverty of Monterrey, Mexico, a ragtag group of boys discovers the joys of sandlot baseball, thanks to the guidance of a coach (Clifton Collins Jr.) who had once hoped to make it in the major leagues. Armed with a dream of playing in the Little League, the boys defy the odds, setting off on an unprecedented winning streak that leads them across the border to America and the 1957 Little League World Series.

  3. Queen Bee Tea at Taylor Conservatory

    The Taylor Conservatory Foundation's (TCF) tea committee have been busy as bees, preparing for the Queen Bee Tea on July 30, 1-4 p.m., at Taylor Conservatory and Botanical Gardens on Northline Road. The Conservatory and Gardens is the perfect place to celebrate beautiful blooms and learn about honeybees, all while sipping tea, enjoying delicious scones, tea sandwiches and sweet dessert treats, from Victoria's Tea Salon. Bill Bray, co-founder and president of the Monroe County Beekeepers and member the South Eastern Michigan Beekeepers Association, will be presenting a 45 minute program, "Coexisting in the World of Honeybees." Taylor Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is a is a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization, founded in 2005, with a mission to enrich the lives of people in Southeast Michigan by creating beautiful public spaces, promoting the arts and sciences, and preserving the natural environment.
