Taylor Meadows Flyover

Hole 1

Your tee shot starts from in the woods, a fade is recommended since the hole gently curves right. The fairway has a plateau about 235 yards from the tee and abruptly slopes downhill to where it ends short of the green. The green is elevated and slopes left, making the green hard to hold. There are trees to the left that can come into play, a deep bunker short, and any shots right leave a downhill chip.

Hole 2

This hole is fairly tight as it is tree lined down both sides of the fairway. The smart play is to keep the driver in the bag and use a 3-wood or hybrid and keep the ball in the fairway. You will still have a short second shot into this green.

Hole 3

Your tee shot on the third is from a little shoot, there is a tree on the left that seems to attract tee shots. The drive is slightly uphill, players are unable to see the green from the tee. There are some smaller trees to the right of the landing zone; that can cause problems. The green is protected by two bunkers short of the green and one of the hardest to hold, most balls will release to the right side.

Hole 4

The fourth hole is another dog leg right, the ideal shot is a drive that starts at the inside corner of the fairway and cuts slightly right. The approach shot will be downhill into this green that slopes left.

Hole 5

The first par 3 has a three-tiered green, two bunkers short left of the green, and OB left and long. A right to left ball flight is recommended on this hole, starting the ball no further right than the edge of the green. Most shots that miss right will leave a pitch to an elevated green, that slopes away from you.

Hole 6

The second of back-to-back par 3’s plays the same yardage as the first but is normally into the wind so it plays longer. The green slopes from back left to the sand trap short right of the green. There are mounds to the left that makeup and downs difficult from that side.

Hole 7

The seventh hole is the only par 5 on the front, there are trees to the left of the tee and a reachable bunker on the right side of the fairway, 235 yards to reach 265 to carry. Most players have to lay up, to anywhere between 100 and 150 yards is a good leave. Players considering going for it in two have to worry about the three bunkers that protect the entire green short.

Hole 8

Most players hit driver on number eight, but if it may put you in the valley between the fairway and the green, we advise against it. The ideal tee shot would leave a nice easy full wedge into the green so players can avoid the trouble that surrounds it. There are three bunkers protecting the left and back of the green and the valley between the fairway and the green wraps around the right side.

Hole 9

Number nine tempts players to drive the green since they carry is only 250 yards, but that brings into play all the trouble. There is water, two large willows, and a bunker short right of the green, that should scare away most golfers from driving the green. The shot to play off the tee is a 230-240 yard cut started at the right side of the fairway bunkers, leaving an easy wedge into the green, any balls landing on the left side of the green should trickle right.

Hole 10

The back nine starts with a true risk-reward par 4. The safe shot is to play less than 200 yards to stay short of the fairway bunker, leaving a wedge in your hand. The risky play is to attack the green, be careful of the lake on the left. The reward can be a chance at a two putt birdie on this amply sloped green.

Hole 11

Number eleven is a par 3, playing 173 yards from the back tees. The expansive tee box provides a wide variety of yardages making available a different experience for the golfer each time they play. After a successful all carry tee shot, you’ll still have to contend with the subtle slopes found on this green.

Hole 12

Number twelve is now a three-shot par five unless you can hit a perfect tee shot and have a 250-yard club for your second shot. This tee gives you the feeling of a stadium course, with a landing zone of 240 to 270 yards out. There is a fairway bunker on the left and a lake along the right. Those lucky enough to find the fairway may be able to try for this small green in two but most likely players should hit a layup shot leaving 120 yards to the green. The green slopes from back to front and is surrounded by pine trees that swallow up most errant shots.

Hole 13

The par 5 thirteenth is reachable in two, there is a fairway bunker on the left of the landing zone and large trees down the right side that can come into play off the tee. When going for the green in two there are two large bunkers guarding the green, one that is short right and a second that is on the left about 50 yards short of the green. When laying up leave 80 yards or more to avoid the bunkers.

Hole 14

The perfect tee shot is 250 yards on the right side of the fairway, to make sure that your approach shot is not blocked by the large tree on the left and the greenside bunker. If your tee shot goes too far right you approach will be from a fairway bunker, making it harder to hold this elevated green.

Hole 15

Your tee shot on the fifteenth is uphill to a blind landing area, there is a bunker on each side the fairway. Landing on this large green is fairly easy from the fairway, but is much harder from the traps, there is no danger short left of the green but large mounds to the right and long. The green slopes away from the mounds.

Hole 16

The sixteenth will require three straight well hit shots to reach the two-tiered green in regulation. The fairway is tree-lined, any shots right or left will leave the player hitting a punch just to get back the fairway. The trees on the left prevent the green from being reached in two as the fairway gently bends to the left. When laying up stay right, since large overhangs the fairway blocking most of the green also approaching for the right also minimizes your chances for ending up in the greenside bunker short left.

Hole 17

The seventeenth is the last par 3 at Taylor Meadows. You will be teeing off from a slightly elevated tee to an elevated green. There is a small pond on the right side of the tee that wraps around the front of the tee in the valley giving this hole an interesting look. The two-tiered green slope to the front left.

Hole 18

Your tee shot starts from in the woods, a fade is recommended since the hole gently curves right. The fairway has a plateau about 235 yards from the tee and abruptly slopes downhill to where it ends short of the green. The green is elevated and slopes left, making the green hard to hold. There are trees to the left that can come into play, a deep bunker short, and any shots right leave a downhill chip.
